Rebecca Rogers, the Good Luck Artist

Rebecca Rogers has been an artist all of her life. Her talent showed through when she was a child, with an uncontrollable urge to create art. Her parents encouraged her talent, and Rebecca developed her art skills over her entire life.
In high school her father directed her talents into pursuing the commercial art field. He felt it would be better for her to "make a career" in commercial art, as a graphic artist. With that guidance and after floundering at dead end, boring jobs, Rebecca found her way into Los Angeles Trade Technical College .
It was there where she gained her career skills and an AA degree. The college had such a great reputations as career school, that she had her first two commercial art jobs while she was still in school in her senior year. She worked for a graphic arts firm called Silverlake designs, that designed billboards for Sunset Boulevard, and album covers for such famous rock stars as Jethro Tull. Her second job as a commercial artist was illustration for a catalogue company, and a lot of creation of catalogue mechanicals. This allowed her to improve her commercial and fine art talent.
After relocating in Morro Bay , and leaving the city life behind, Rebecca's hand lettering skills continued and she started a sign company. She had learned sign graphics as a second major at her trade school, and her business thrived then as it does today, as Atascadero Signs. This business has allowed her to incorporate artistry with commercial signs, as there is a lot of artwork that is done on signs. Now a lot of the business of signs has gone to computer aided design, and vinyl cutting and large format printing. Rebecca has had to enlarge her skills in that area to keep up with the changing times.
Years of commercial art, husband and raising 2 children has led her back to the need to create fine art, just for the love of it. It was that love in the beginning that got her this far. It is just the love of doing the art project that has got her back to college, doing the things she loves. The love of fine art. After years of doing oil paintings, she is now pursuing watercolor painting. "I am obsessed with it", like many artists feel, many feel that her paintings bring them luck. That is what she has told them anyway. That is why is has a reputations as being the Good luck Artist.
